In order to think about the future and reflect on possible governance scenarios, based on the information available in the present, Asuntos de Sur developed a methodological manual for the construction of prospective scenarios. Through a “collective process of future construction”, this methodology allows us to identify trends and generate proposals in the face of uncertainties, that is, we evaluate possible alternative futures in order to plan decision-making and elaborate decision schemes and possible contingencies. Thus, in our final product, each scenario synthesizes a specific interaction of events or critical variables and their trajectories over time to visualize future options.
Based on this methodological tool, the objective is to establish a reference framework to promote models of democratic governance in the face of current and future entangled problems in Latin America.
